Biography of the artist
My name is Kunga Tenzin, I am Tibetan. I was born and raised in Nepal, Kathmandu where I currently live. At 15, I joined a Buddhist monastery where I received a monastic education. The years spent at the monastery influenced my way of understanding photography. I learned to make sense of life. Photography represents for me another window on the world. I like to photograph people because by observing their expression, their eyes, languages are loosened and stories are told. For me the portrait consists of capturing the identity of the person, his personality.
